January Reflections

The start of a new year always feels like a fresh page of a new journal. Derek and I rang in the new year celebrating love at a friend’s wedding on the beach in Siesta Key, Florida. It was beautiful. Really a wonderful excuse to get away from cold NYC for a few days.

January 1st – after a night of celebrating I woke up to devastating news. We lost my Poppa. He spent New Year’s Eve enjoying dinner with my parents, whom he has lived with for almost 13 years, wished me and my brother a happy new year and face-timed with his very best friends. He was 93 years old. We had just celebrated his birthday in December – that was such a fun day. I am still heartbroken over this loss, but I know he will always be with me.

A few days later I tested positive for Covid-19. What a sh*tty start to 2022. Thankfully I was ok and just had very mild symptoms. Derek didn’t test positive and was thankfully ok as well. I was cleared by January 13th.

So yea, it’s been a very long, emotionally exhausting first month into 2022. In times like this I have to remember to look on the bright side and be grateful for all the good that has happened and all that’s yet to come!

January 2022 wins:

  • I am starting to become more consistent with my daily planning – for work & personal activities. This has really helped me stay motivated and keep me on track with my projects & to-do lists.
  • Consistency in journaling during the week!
  • Gaining confidence in my TikTok abilities. I’m still pretty novice, but feel I am starting to find my little spot on the FYP.
  • I got accepted into LikeToKnow. It! This was really a confidence boost for me. In the past I have applied and was denied, so getting accepted this time made me feel great about my growth as a content creator. I hope you all continue to follow my journey and also shop with me!
