Charleston, South Carolina August 2021

Derek and I recently went on vacation to Charleston, SC. Charleston is such a beautiful, vibrant city. We really loved walking around and taking in the views, exploring the various art galleries and dining out each night! This trip was actually our first vacation together, besides various trips to Ocean City, MD over the years, our first time flying together and our my first real vacation since Covid-19. It was a surreal feeling being back in the air and excited for an adventure.

Day 1

The first day really felt like we were explorers. We landed in the morning, checked-in to our hotel, The Meeting Street Inn (@themeetingstreetinn), and grabbed breakfast at Toast All Day (@toastofcharleston). We embraced the Southern lifestyle and ordered chicken and waffles – yum! We explored the art galleries on Meeting Street and stopped by the famous Pineapple Fountain. After a quick nap we were back out for dinner at High Cotton (@dinehighcotton). This was probably my favorite restaurant of our trip. We loved everything we ate, especially the Charleston She Crab Soup and Crispy Brussel Sprouts.

Day 2

We spent day 2 eating brunch at Poogan’s Porch (@poogansporchchs) and exploring more art galleries and shops. We then rented bikes via Holy Spokes and rode around the College of Charleston and their Greek Life houses. I met Derek at Towson through Greek Life, but we didn’t have Greek housing at Towson so I always find it really neat to see Greek housing at other colleges. This was also the rainiest day, so we spent most of the evening in a local bar watching the Olympics.

Day 3

Beach day! Even though August is rainy season for SC, we still managed to get in a rain-free day for the beach. We took a lyft to Sullivan’s Island. It was pretty empty so we had a lot of space to ourselves. After we stopped at The Obstinate Daughter (@theobstinatedaughter) where we had the BEST peach salad and pizza. This was our last full day as well so for dinner we treated ourselves to the famous Slightly North of Broad aka SNOB (@snobchs).
