Adventures with @coffeeandcookiesli !

If I could visit a new cafe that is uniquely akin to the small town it resides in every day you bet I would! There are few things I enjoy more than the simple aesthetic of sitting inside a naturally lit coffee shop sipping a warm espresso and nibbling on a croissant. Are the thoughts of roasted coffee beans waking you up yet?

I had the absolute pleasure of tagging along on some on the many adventures of @coffeeandcookiesli back when I was visiting my parents in February and early March. You see, @coffeeandcookiesli are run by two very special people to me – my big brother, Scott, and his girlfriend, Lauren! You know a relationship has a really strong foundation when they commit to a joint Instagram account, right?!

As an aspiring Influencer myself, it was really fun spending some days with the coffee cookie connoisseurs and really learn the ways of how they manage, plan and stage each photo for their account. @coffeeandcookiesli serves as both an aspirational and informative account for Long Islanders looking for the trendiest cup of joe.

Heavenly Coffee Merrick, NY

First stop was Heavenly Coffee (@hevenlycoffeeny) and these coffee angels did NOT disappoint! With coffee beans infused with different flavors, my iced Banana Cream coffee really tasted like the beans came right off the banana peel.

Sundae Donuts Syosset, NY

For stop number two we substituted the cookies for donuts! Sundae Donuts (@sundaedonuts) has a few locations on Long Island and the Syosset location is pretty special because it sits right inside Cardinali Bakery (@cardinaliny). It’s kind of funny that the night before we went to Sundae Donuts, I walked into Cardinali to get some Hamantaschen for Purim and there I saw the stand for Sundae Donuts! I had no idea this was literally right where our donut adventure would be the very next morning. The entire Sundae Donuts side of the bakery looked like I was walking through sprinkles with decor including a huge balloon arch and tie dye sweatshirts for sale hanging on the wall.

To be honest, the coffee was so/so, but the donuts…MMMM! We got 8 different flavors, most topped with cereal & frosting. These are by far some of the best donuts I’ve had in quite a while and I highly recommend stopping by Sundae Donuts for a sweet treat.

Flux Coffee Farmingdale, NY

The last stop on our coffee tour was a place I have been too before but never actually order from. Flux Coffee (@fluxcoffee) is probably my favorite spot on this list. When you walk in, the cafe’s earthy artisan brew aromas fill the air and invite you to sit down and stay a while. While we couldn’t sit and stay awhile due to Covid-19 protocols, my craving for a classic cafe aesthetic had been fulfilled before I even ordered.

My iced Lavender Oat Milk latte was a creamy dream. The front of the shop was already set up for a photoshoot too, making it really easy for the coffee and cookie pros & myself to start snapping!

Are you on Long Island? What are some of your favorite LI Coffee Spots? Maybe I’ll visit there next!
